About Rae Scott
Rae Scott is an award-winning author/poet and book enthusiast from Baltimore, MD. Her literary journey began in January 2021 after creating a bookstagram account dedicated to promoting and celebrating black literature and sharing her love for books. In 2022, she published Through Blood and Becoming, a book of poetry detailing a traumatic childbirth and her experience with postpartum depression. Her work was awarded as a finalist for the International Book Awards and Best Book Awards (2022) in urban poetry.

Content Creator ofthe Year in the All Ways Black Awards (@allwaysblack) curated by Penguin Random House. Her presentation Sincerely, Baltimore was awarded in the Maryland Scholar Summit for it's meticulous approach to researching local history. She successfully complete a 2023 writers workshop with the Hurston/Wright Foundation, a literary organization that supports the careers of black writers.
Rae works with several organizations to benefit and support black literary communities and beyond. She co-leads The SoLoveSoul Book Club with SOULpreneur Brittany Johnson (@soulpreneur_life), and has contributed to the AAMBC Award Winning Book Club Blog, The Sistah Girls Book Club (@sistahgirlsbookclub). As a content creator, she had worked on several independent book launches with the black owned publishing company Mahogany Pen (@mahoganypen.publishing), and leads the social media campaigns for the Black Cannabis Week (@blackcannabisweek) annual conference curated by The Diasporic Alliance for Cannabis Opportunities (DACO).
